KL Over the Weekend

29 Jul

It’s been a while since I had the mood to update what’s going on. I hope things will pick up soon anyway.

Nonetheless, some pics from the trip that was planned quite some time ago..We were invited to Azhar’s place at Sri Tiara (free lodging ftw!) so we just headed there for the weekend, while the rest stayed back to catch the Arsenal match.

As much as a quick getaway was a good breather, I hardly had a chance to catch a breath. We had to rush straight after work to the airport on a Friday night to catch our flight, and by the time we were in KL in the comforts of his place, it was almost 1am. And then rushing back on Sunday night, and reaching SG near midnight, before preparing for work the next day. It was quite tiring I must say.

The whole trip was basically just lazing, watching White Collar, and catching up on movies like 21 Jump street and more..

Saturday, we headed to the mall near his place for some casual Jap food. It was not too bad, but for the price we paid, I shan’t complain! Exchange rate was pretty damn good too. SGD 1=MYR 2.5!

One thing I like about Msia is that it has some character as compared to SG. Character as in some old heritage stuff that makes the bustling city still interesting. This Police mail box caught my attention!

We did some grocery shopping for breakfast and lunch the next day before heading back home to rest before dinner..

Flourless Peanut Butter & Chocolate Chip Cookies

5 Jul

I was feeling edgy and stressed a couple of days back, and I just needed to expel some pent up negativity. Since I had the whole night to myself, I thought, why not bake some delish sinful food. I must admit I’m not the best baker around. I usually have hits and misses (more of the latter unfortunately), BUT Rome was not built in a day, isn’t it? I usually console myself with that.

Decided to dig up this fuss-free recipe that I have been eyeing for quite some time at Buns in My Oven. Only 5 ingredients, beat that! Glad to say the cookies turned out fabulousssssss. If not I would have been one pissed off bitch. Anyway, peanut butter and chocolate can never go wrong. I don’t really fancy peanut butter alone but pairing it with chocolate is almost close to heaven.

Flourless Peanut Butter & Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 cups peanut butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees celcius and line baking tray with cookie sheet.
  2. In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat together peanut butter, brown sugar, eggs and baking soda until light and creamy. Stir in the chocolate chunks.
  3. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto the cookie sheet.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes for soft and chewy cookies or 12 minutes for crunchy cookies. (Do not panic if they are soft when removed from the oven, let them sit for a couple of minutes to form)
  5. Cool on wire rack and gobble them down.

This recipe yields quite a huge amount of cookies, and so I didn’t finish the batter. I would definitely half them the next time I make it. This recipe is so easy that everyone should try it!

Pink Dot 2012

2 Jul

30 June 2012: Pink Dot @ Hong Lim Park!

Our second year attending Pink Dot, this time with a different group of friends (:
Last year’s crowd was massive, with about 10,000 people at the event. We were there pretty late and we had to squeeze our way around. This time, we did make an effort to go there earlier to beat the crowd, found a spot to sit and enjoy the concert. Even when more people started streaming in, we felt comfy.

We heard the total headcount was 15,000 that day wheeee!

Companions for the day!

Definitely another unforgettable Pinkdot! And I wonder what will be done next year to make it even more memorable.

Our event landed on Wall Street Journal even..
