Woes of a woman

24 Apr

I had one of the worst nights of my life yesterday. Ok, that may be abit extreme. But it was one of the worsts for as long as I can remember. And I just need to rant how unfair we women have to face these pains every month. Im pretty sure not everyone suffers like me, and I’m just quite unfortunate myself.

I was feeling all fine yesterday, albeit tired, when my legs started aching. All of a sudden. And I knew that was a sign of the monthly menstrual cycle about to come, exactly like how it happens every month . Just that, it decided to come immediately!

The next thing I knew, I was writhing in bed, groaning to no one in particular. There was a dead log sleeping next to me though haha. So I forced myself not to pop that painkiller and continued to wallow in self pity. I thought hugging a pillow to put some pressure on the stomach would help but apparently it didn’t. Pain at the tummy and aching legs non stop. Didn’t know how I fell asleep in the end, but after 2 hours of sleep, I woke up from more pain!

12 midnight, I saw the clock. Gosh. There goes my sleep. Tossed and turned. Huddled under my blanket tighter (thinking that would help). Moped around in the toilet for half an hour on 2 occasions. In the end, I succumbed and popped the pills. Writed around in pain for another hour and by 2am I forced myself to try to sleep.

Doesn’t sound all that bad, but I swear I wanted to be a man yesterday. No pain forever!

Boat Asia 2012

18 Apr

Headed to Boat Asia held at the Marina @ Keppel Bay over the weekend! First time attending a yacht showcase and it was pretty interesting and an eyeopener! Crazy crowded and the sweltering heat was really a killer for me ):PhotobucketPhotobucket

First stop was the ‘Sea Bear’, perhaps one of the biggest highlight of the event – the yacht previously owned by golf legend, Jack Nicklaus.Took a tour round the museum which was specially dedicated to him!Pictures of the inside..PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
PhotobucketOther yachts for sale and on display!PhotobucketPhotobucketWe headed to Prive after a short while cos we weren’t that interested in the boats and it was scorching. Plus, we can’t afford it anyway, haha. Someday, someday…

RWS Maritime Experiential Museum & Kae’s 1st Birthday Party

10 Apr

Good Friday weekend was good, I must say. We maxed out most of our days, and work this week is a major pain.

Thursday: Robert Timms & then supper with Rach and SW.

Friday: Tennis & Dinner with the usuals

Saturday : RWS

Headed to the Malaysian Food Street place.

Basically, there’s no need to travel to Malaysia anymore, because all their delicacies can be found here. And I mean ALL. From Malacca’s chicken rice balls, KL’s hokkien mee, pastries from the famous Fung Wong Confectionery (must try!), you get the drift.

I still dont get why anyone would put Malaysia’s hawker fare in Singapore’s RWS.

Anyways, the decor was interesting, smaller replicas of shophouses.

Us attempting to look pretty

Headed to the Maritime Experiential Museum.

Interactive museum showing Southeast Asia’s maritime trade from the 9th century.

And it was Sukiya for dinner this weekend again!

K’s 1st bday party

So lucky to have such a pretty dessert table.

Ending off with a darn cute picture of my friend’s poodle who got stuck while trying to jail break!

Weekends that flash by

2 Apr

This week’s gonna be busy busy. With a few plans coming up, I hope they all turn out pretty well (:

Thankfully it’s Good Friday today, which means no work! Love 4 day work weeks like these.

Leftover pictures from a couple of weeks ago!

This was our second time at Sukiya which was 3 weeks back. The following week (2 weeks ago) we had Sukiya again. Last week, we had Sukiya on Thursday, and again on Sunday. Omg, I think I’m officially sick of it. How to not grow fat having buffets constantly!Photobucket

Friday night out with Chris and Gwen at The Wine Company along Sentosa Boardwalk. First time at the Boardwalk! The ambience was pretty chillax which we liked but we were getting bites from insects so we moved into the aircon area. Haha.Photobucket

Sunday R&R time at Gwen’s condo. We started out with Muay Thai cos Rachel brought her pads.

The 2 muay-thai experts

It’s honestly quite a tiring sport, and I was so afraid of getting hit on my face! Not my sport, I reckon.
